Alive After Five is an opportunity for Club members and friends to relax,
unwind and socialize monthly at area bars, taprooms and pubs. Participants often take

Saturday April 26th from 8 - 11pm
Join the Morris County Ski club and your host Tobi Klein for a Hibachi
Dinner at East Tokyo in Randolph. Watch as the chef puts on a show as he
cooks your Hibachi dinner. Space is limited to only 20 people.
Your dinner includes soup, salad, Shrimp appetizer, and your choice of
Hibachi Chicken, Steak or Shrimp dinner. Also included is 1 soda per person.
The restaurant does not have a liquor license but you are encouraged to
"bring your own" (Wine, Saki).
East Tokyo is located on Route 10 East, just past Center Grove Road in

where we have had 2 AAF Happy Hours.

Location: Lake Skanatati Parking Lot,
Harriman New York
Description: Join the Morris County Ski Club on an
approximately 7 mile hike in Harriman State Park. The hike will be
moderately difficult with some climbing involved. There will be some scenic
overlooks and we will visit the "Lemon Squeezer". The hike should take
between 4 and 5 hours to complete, including a lunch break. After the hike
we will go to a nearby Bar and Grill (probably Rhode's North Tavern).
Important Notes:
1. Wear hiking boots instead of sneakers. The terrain is rocky and there
will be some water crossings.
2. Bring a day pack, sufficient water, and your lunch.
3. You may want to bring a 2 way radio and a camera.
4. You will warm up as you hike.
5. A trail map will provided at the site.
6. There are no facilities at the meeting place. There are facilities
approximately 2 to 3 miles past the meeting place at Lake Tiorati.
7. A trail map will be provided at site.

Route 287 North or Garden Sate Parkway North to Route 17 North
Route 17 to just beyond the Center of Sloatsburg and make a right onto Seven
Lakes Drive.
Go 8 miles on Seven Lakes Drive and make a sharp left into the Lake
Skanatati Parking Lot.
The lot is 0.7 miles past the Kanawauke Circle and Lake Askoti is on the
opposite side of the road.
Note: If you need any food or drink you should purchase them prior to
turning onto Seven Lakes Drive.

Wanaque
Reservoir Hike
Date: Saturday, May 10, 2008
Time: 10:30 AM
Location: Wanaque NJ
Description: Join the Morris County Ski Club on a moderate
6 to 7 mile hike to Ramapo Lake. There will be a few climbs which will offer
views of Ramapo Lake, the Wanaque Reservoir and the surrounding mountains.
We will hike along Ramapo Lake to a set of ruins and then follow the newly
blazed Wanaque Ridge Trail back to our starting location. The hike should
take about 4 to 4.5 hours to complete including a lunch break. After the
hike we will go to Thatcher McGhee’s an Irish pub.
Important Notes:
1. Hiking boots rather than sneakers.
2. Dress in layers as you will warm up.
3. Carry a day pack
4. Bring sufficient water, your lunch and bug repellent.
5. Bring a 2-way radio if you have one.
6. You may want to bring a camera.
7. A trail map will be provided at site.

• Route 287 North to exit 55 (Route 511 North)
• Make a right at light and follow 511 North (Ringwood Avenue) 1 mile.
• Make a right onto 2nd Ave. There will be a traffic light and a CVS at 2nd
Ave.
• Go 0.3 miles to a stop sign and make a left onto Boulevard
• At next intersection bear right to continue onto 4th Ave
• In 0.2 miles where 4th Ave bears left stay straight onto Black Beach Road.
• Follow Black Beach Road about 0.5 miles to the end. There is a large
parking lot and a recreational complex.

Bike Weekend
Friday-Sunday, May 16-18, 2008
CAPE MAY, NEW JERSEY
Lodging: Atlas Inn, located at 1035 Beach Avenue, Cape May,

(toll free). The Inn is an ocean front hotel with lots of great amenities
including beverage refrigerators in all rooms, sauna, swimming pool, and
exercise room. Not only great amenities but the trip will include a
hospitality suite that will be stocked with beverages and snacks.
Biking: There will be 2 organized rides planned – a shorter ride of around
20 miles and a longer ride one (35-40 miles).
Cost: Members cost is $205 per person which includes 2
nights lodging double occupancy, 3 meals (breakfast Saturday and Sunday and
a Saturday group dinner). Members will have sign-up priority through the
March 25 meeting. After March 25 the cost for members and guests to sign up
will be $230.

An Evening of Horseback
Riding

A love for horses and an adventuresome spirit are required for all
participants. Included are an hour-and-a-half trail ride, a
one-and-a-half-hour Western-Style BBQ, live entertainment and lots of
quality fun with an old fashioned hayride at the end of the evening.
All riders must weigh below 240 pounds including clothing and shoes.
The cost is $60.00 a person and it is a BYOB for the dinner.

NY Mets face the Seattle Mariners in intra-league play. We have excellent
seats to help cheer on the Mets as they battle a team with championship
expectations.
Tickets for this event are priced at only $28 and include a mezzanine
level game ticket plus a $5 coupon for use at any concession stand. Tickets
though are very limited in number and will be available only to ski club
members until Wednesday May 28th. If any tickets remain on that date, they
will become available for guests at the same price. So sign up quickly and

Yankee Baseball

Join
the Morris County Ski Club as we go to historic Yankee Stadium on July 31,
2008 to see the New York Yankees. We have obtained group tickets at
approximately a 50% discount for this game. Members will have priority to
these tickets through June 10th. This is the last year that games will be
played in Yankee Stadium. Starting in 2009 the New York Yankees will play a
new Stadium being built across the street. Please join us to see this
exciting game at the most famous sports venue in the world.

The bus will depart from the Ramada at 3:30 sharp so we have the best chance
at touring Monument Park.

historic monument park.
Monument Park is a special place honoring the greatest Yankee heroes with

You will see the Ramada on the Right shortly after the jug handle. It is
