JOIN THE Morris County Ski club for a night of indoor rock climbing
at the “The Gravity Vault” in Chatham, NJ on Saturday March 12th.
Experience indoor rock climbing and bouldering in a fun and safe
environment.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
Our group will have a ratio of 5:1 student to instructor and a max
of 30 participants.
Price for this is $25.00 per person.

Join the Morris County Ski Club and your host, Don Smith, to enjoy a
night of playing pool. We have 8 tables reserved at Crown Billiards
(973) 513-9266) in Pompton Lakes, N.J. on Thursday, April 21, 2011
Our night will feature an “8 Ball” team competition and we have the
option of playing by black light or regular lighting
The pool hall does not have a liquor license so you are encouraged
to “bring your own”. Should you forget there is a merchant directly
across the street to help fill your critical last minute alcohol
needs.
Space is limited, so please sign up by Thursday, April 14th.
Cost: $20 per person which includes all night pool
play. all night (till midnight) and light snacks if we get a good
turn out.

Directions:
Head North on I-287 N for about 10 miles from Route 80. Take exit 53
toward County Rd 694/County Rd 511 Alt/Bloomingdale/Pompton Lakes .2
miles. Turn right at Hamburg Turnpike/Paterson-Hamburg Turnpike 0.9
miles. Paterson-Hamburg Turnpike turns slightly right and becomes
Hamburg Turnpike .7 miles. Crown is on the second story of a two
story building on the left. If you pass a big dam from the lake on
the left or CVS you missed it.

Got Balls?
Friday
April 29th
Bowling balls that is! Yes, it’s that time again…back to Hanover
Lanes, 119 Rt 10, East Hanover, NJ for some balls and beers (and
hopefully some strikes in there). We’re starting at 6pm at our very
own meeting bar, Miami Mikes in the Ramada. The lanes are just
across Rt 10, we’ll head over by 7:30 leaving time for shoe rental
and finding that perfect 10 ball. There is a bar at the lanes if you
cannot join us at Miami Mike’s for pre-bowl cheer.

Ramapo Mountain/Camp Glen Gray Hike
Date: Saturday, April 30, 2010
Time: 10:00 AM (Stop + Shop Exit #55 off 287)
Description: Join the Morris County Ski Club on a
moderate 8 mile loop hike through Ramapo Mountain State Forest and
Camp Glen Gray. We will have some scenic overlooks and as we hike
through the Ramapo Mountains and Camp Glen Gray. There is some
climbing although none of the climbs are technically difficult. The
water crossings are also not difficult. The hike should take 5 hours
to complete and you should get a good workout. We will meet at the
Stop and Shop at Exit #55 off Route 287 and then car pool 5 miles to
the hike location as parking may be limited at the trail head. After
the hike we will go to Timbers, a nearby Bar and Grill 2 miles from
the hike location.

Important Notes:
1. Hiking boots are recommended as the footpaths are rocky
2. Dress in layers as you will warm up.
3. Carry a day pack with sufficient water and your lunch.
4. You may want to bring a camera.
5. A trail map will be provided at site. The hiking trails are on
NJTC map #115

(Stop + Shop exit 55 of Route 287)
From Morristown Area
• Route 287 North to exit 55 (Route 511 North)
• Make a right at light go under Route 287 and then a left at the
next light.
• The entrance to Stop + Shop will be on your right.
• Pull into the lot and turn right. We will park against the fence
towards the back of the store.
• There are facilities in Stop and Shop and at the Burger King
across the street.
• We will car pool at 10:15 for hiking trail head location.
• If it is more convenient to go directly to the hike location look
for the parking lot by mile post 1.4 of Skyline Drive which can be
accessed from Exit #57 off Route 287.

SPRING WEEKEND
ST. MICHAELS MARYLAND

located at the junction of the Miles River and Eastern Bay and one
mile west of historic St. Michaels. Each room has a private balcony
allowing a waterfront view. Amenities at the resort include an 18
hole golf course (driving range / putting green), tennis (3 courts
with lights), volleyball (sand pit), horseshoes, roller blading, a
fitness center, and spa. Kayak rentals and sailing excursions are
nearby.
Biking (1 organized ride on Saturday – about 35
miles) . We will follow Oxford/St. Michaels loop which is recognized
as one of the premier bike trails in the Mid-Atlantic region
St. Michaels (

is a historic sailing town which was settled in 1677. Attractions
include the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, a century-old
lighthouse, a ferry to nearby Oxford as well as a collection of
shops, taverns and restaurants.
Costs
Member cost is $275 pp which includes 2 nights lodging double
occupancy, Saturday dinner, and use of resort facilities (golf and
the spa are extra).
Guests cost is $285.
Golf is an additional $64.99 + tax (with cart). Golf is to be
arranged directly with the resort. Sign Ups for this trip will only
be guaranteed through April 19th.
